A continuous surface can bring a hallway, kitchen and living room together. But the line you see in a photograph is only part of the decision. Tell us whether you are renewing one room or changing the layout, whether the property will remain occupied and which finishes you want to keep. Those choices shape the preparation and the sequence of work.

Keeping an existing floor is a question, not a promise
If you would like to retain tiles, send both a wide photograph and close-ups of cracks, thresholds and edges. Photographs help us discuss the scope; they do not establish that a substrate is ready to coat. Loose areas, moisture or movement may need investigation and repair. The complete prepared build-up also needs to fit doors and adjoining floors.
For a bathroom, mark the shower, drain and any fittings that will move. A wall colour can continue visually into the shower, but water-exposed areas need their own suitable system and carefully resolved junctions. Necessary movement and sealant joints are not removed simply to achieve a seamless appearance.
If underfloor heating is part of the renovation, involve its installer before setting the finishing dates. Heating, substrate preparation and the decorative finish need to be planned together. A new heating system does not make an existing floor ready for microcement by itself.

Plan access and first use separately
Start with your address, photographs and approximate dimensions. Include the floor level, stair or lift access, and whether the space is your only bathroom or your route through the house. We can then discuss what needs inspection and coordinate the finishing work with the other trades.
Agree the preparation, finish and scope in the quotation before booking surrounding work. Application days and the dates for walking, washing or moving furniture back are different milestones. Follow the instructions for the actual system installed; a dry-looking surface is not confirmation that every use is permitted. At handover, keep the care information with the project documents.

As a starting point, floors are from €140/m² and bathrooms and walls from €180/m², excluding VAT. Material and application are included; preparation is additional. Good to know
Are you based in Groningen?
No. Coated Surfaces is based in Schiedam. Send the project location and scope so we can discuss a visit, availability and the practical arrangements. A Groningen service-area page does not mean we have a local office.
Can I keep using my only bathroom during the work?
Do not assume so. The work area and subsequent curing restrictions can prevent normal use. Tell us it is your only bathroom before agreeing the schedule, so you can arrange an alternative and separate completion from the first permitted shower.
Is microcement maintenance-free?
No. The installed finish needs suitable cleaning and protection. Keep the supplied aftercare instructions, use approved cleaning products and protect the surface from abrasive dirt and furniture damage. Ask about any mark before trying an aggressive cleaner.
