Microcement Finishing Almere

Clean finishes for a forward-looking city.

About Microcement

Microcement in Almere

Almere is built on ambition. A city that grew from polder land into a full-fledged metropolis in fifty years, with its own architecture, its own character and a population that values space. That space lives in the homes themselves: wide living rooms, open kitchens, bright bathrooms. Microcement amplifies exactly that feeling.

A seamless floor that runs from hallway to living room to kitchen, without thresholds and without grout. The space becomes larger, calmer, brighter.

In the new-build neighbourhoods of Almere Poort and Almere Duin, we see many young families consciously choosing a floor that can take a beating. Forcrete microcement scores 7 on the Mohs scale - harder than granite. Scratch-resistant, waterproof, and easy to keep clean. No grout lines trapping dirt.

In Almere Haven, where the city's first homes stand, more and more owners are renovating to give their home a modern look. Microcement over existing tiles is a smart choice. No demolition, no hassle. Just a new surface that stays beautiful for years.

About Coated Surfaces

Discipline As Foundation

Coated Surfaces grew out of a world where precision isn't negotiable. Founder Pom spent years as a professional dancer at Cirque du Soleil. Every night the same movement, down to the millimetre. That might sound far from floors and walls, but it's the opposite.

Microcement demands exactly that same control. Timing, feel, precision. The difference between a good floor and an exceptional one comes down to millimetres. We take the time it needs. No rushing, no half measures. Just lasting surfaces that bring calm to a space.

Official certified Forcrete installer. Trained to expertly apply 100% waterproof microcement systems. Seamless finishes for bathrooms, floors and walls.

Applications

Microcement applications in Almere

Almere grew from bare polder into a city with its own identity in just fifty years. In Almere Poort and Duin, new housing developments are still being delivered, and that is exactly where we see strong demand for microcement. Standard handover with white tiles and laminate? There is a better option. A seamless Forcrete floor across the entire ground level gives your home its own character straight away, and works perfectly with underfloor heating.

For families with children - and Almere has plenty of those - microcement is a logical choice. The surface is extremely hard, scratch-resistant and has no grout lines where crumbs, sand or stains disappear into. One damp cloth and it is clean. In the bathroom we apply the same finish as a waterproof system: shower, walls, vanity top, everything seamless.

In Almere Haven, home to the first houses from the 1970s, renovation is the focus. Breaking out old tiled floors means dust, noise and weeks of disruption. We apply microcement directly over existing tiles. No demolition, no skip on the driveway. Within a week, a completely new look.

What clientssay

We are incredibly happy with our new floor. Pom is a true craftsman. Highly recommended!

Ila Luijten

Pom gave our bathroom a complete makeover. The walls with beton cire and the floor with microcement. The end result is calm and modern. Very satisfied with Pom's expertise, his way of working, and the final result.

Our kitchen and living room have been completely transformed. The seamless transition between the spaces makes everything feel so spacious. Pom really thinks along with you and delivers top quality.

Why Coated Surfaces

Why microcement in Almere?

Almere is growing, and homes are growing with it. Whether you are finishing a new-build or renovating an existing property, microcement offers a durable solution that suits modern living. We are a certified Forcrete installer and work throughout Flevoland. In Almere Poort and Almere Duin I see a lot of new construction where people want something special, something different from the standard tile floor the contractor offers. Microcement fits perfectly. Sleek, seamless, running from kitchen to living room without a transition.

In Almere Haven I more often work in homes from the seventies and eighties that need a thorough refresh. There, microcement lays a completely new surface over the existing one, without demolition work. I understand that young families want to know what to expect. That is why you receive a clear quotation and a realistic schedule upfront. No surprises. Want a no-obligation consultation at your home? Get in touch and we will schedule a time that suits you.

Process

How does a microcement project work in Almere?

Almere is built on a grid, and that makes logistics a lot easier than in an old city centre. Parking at the door, materials inside, get to work. It begins with a visit where I assess the substrate. New-builds in Almere Duin often have an anhydrite screed - that needs to be properly dried and sanded before I can start. For renovations in Haven I regularly work over existing tiles, provided they are stable. After preparation I build up the microcement in multiple thin layers. Each layer dries, gets sanded, then the next follows. That takes time, but it is how you get a surface that is truly level. For a bathroom in a new-build I estimate two to three working days, for a complete ground floor three to five. At the end I apply the protective sealer. The result: a seamless floor that matches the clean character of Almere.
